IMRAN TURNS ASLAM IN SOBO ON SUNDAY

Breaking out of his chocolate boy image of Jaane Tu...Ya Jaane Na, Imran Khan had turned several shades darker for Sanjay Gadhvi's 2008 film Kidnap. Ready for an encore, Imran signed on to play Dawood Ibrahim's rival Aslam in Ekta Kapoor and Milan Luthria's sequel to Once Upon A Time In Mumbaai. And here's how the baddie Imran will look in the film...

Mirror caught Imran and co-star Chetan Hansraj shooting at south Mumbai's Kala Ghoda area on Sunday evening. A night sequence involving Imran and Chetan driving a car out of the parking lot, the shoot began around 6 pm and was still going on when we left the spot at midnight.
The surrounding buildings were illuminated and the parking lot was full of vintage cars. Sporting a moustache, a kurta and a religious charm around his neck, Imran looked every bit the goon he would portray on screen. His body language too, was a complete overhaul from the Jaane Tu..lover boy.

Akki plays Santa to his technicians

Gifts them a bonus of Rs 12 lakh 80 thousand

In keeping with the spirit of X-mas, Akshay Kumar got the technicians of his upcoming film Khiladi 786 a surprise gift. He paid a sum of Rs 12 lakh 80 thousand to the team of 88 crew members on the final day of the shoot as bonus, over and above their daily wages.

Akshay, whohad come up the hard way, recognised the discrepancy in the remuneration of the people behind the scenes. In the Hindi film industry technicians mostly work on per-day wages, which is meagre compared to international standards. The actor realised that the amount of hard work put in by technicians isn't fairly justified monetarily. In fact, newer faces in the industry get paid more than those who have been a part of the system for decades.
And thus, one hour after wrapping up the final day's work, Akshay handed over the bonus to all the workers. He was shooting a song Balma in Lokhandwala. The shooting got over at 5am. At 6 am, he distributed the money among the crew. When contacted, Rajendra Toraskar, the production head of Khiladi 786 confirmed the story and added, "Akshay had done the same several times for many of his films."
Incidentally, the workers were paid bonus amount, according to their grade. While Grade - B workers received Rs 9-11 thousand, Grade-C staff took home Rs 5-8 thousand each. "People from the art department, light men, spot boys, crane operators, vanity van guards, sound attendants, costume assistants and other production people, everyone received a bonus amount," the source added. Looks like Santa came a few weeks too soon for the Khiladi 786 team.

LOCK, STOCK AND SMOKING

The actor's next with brother Sohail is a project named after Radhe, his famous long-haired avatar in the 2003 blockbuster Tere Naam

Satish Kaushik's 2003 film Tere Naam had brought critical acclaim to Salman Khan. Breaking out of the lover boy image, the actor had essayed the role of a bad boy who loses his mind over unrequited love, with elan. And now, Mirror has learnt that Salman is ready to revive the famous character of Radhe - the character that had even made a hair-style famous. Albeit as a namesake, Radhe will come back soon as Sohail Khan's next directorial venture.

We learnt from industry insiders, after Sohail's superhero project Sher Khan hit a roadblock, Salman green flagged another film that will go on floors next year. And it was the actor, who in a recent interaction with Mumbai Mirror, confirmed that it would be Radhe.
"I am doing Sohail's film Radhe and that will happen before Sher Khan," he told us and before we got excited, added as a disclaimer, "But, this is just a working title for now."
According to a source Sohail never goes ahead with the project unless his big brother Salman approves of it. "He discussed the subject of Radhe with Salman. After prolonged interactions and several meetings, they agreed on the subject and decided to go on the floors with it before Sher Khan," said the source.
However, plans of revisiting the famous character are still in the nascent stage. "Details are being worked out even as we speak. It would be interesting to see if Salman will grow his hair and reprise the famous role again," the source told us.
Incidentally, Sohail has just returned to the city after organising one of the biggest Bollywood shows in Dubai with Salman and Priyanka Chopra. Whether PeeCee's renewed friendship with the Khan-daan will land her a role in Sohail's project, only time will tell.

Victoria, 38, has viewed a townhouse in the exclusive Ham Common area of Richmond, Surrey, and is believed to be close to making an offer.

High-profile neighbours include The Who guitarist Pete Townshend and politician Zac Goldsmith.
The Beckham' move after five years in America could mean Victoria and David, 37, rubbing shoulders with society's elite at Ham Polo Club. They could find themselves cheering princes William, 30, and Harry, 28, who are regulars on the playing field.
Sons Brooklyn, 13, Romeo, 10, Cruz, seven, and eventually 16-month-old daughter Harper could even have private lessons.
Victoria's search comes as former England star David announced his departure from LA Galaxy for one final football challenge in Europe.
The couple still have the original Beckingham Palace, and £18 million mansion in Hertfordshire.

Zeta-Jones's heeling touch

Catherine Zeta-Jones and singer Bonnie Tyler have helped pull in $6,400 (£4,000) to boost an ongoing search for a girl who vanished in Wales.

The Mask of Zorro star donated a pair of gold high heels to be autioned off for the April's Fund campaign, which was started to help find five-year-old schoolgirl April Jones.
The autographed sandals pulled in $656 (£410) when they went under the hammer in Jones' hometown of Machynlleth, Powys on November 30.
Tyler also pitched in by handling over a diamante-studded denim jacket.
Karen Evans, one of the charity auction organisers, says, "It was great to get everybody together in the town fo rthe evening.
"We are very pleased with how it all went. We raised plenty of money for April's Fund - and that was what it was all about".

A curious case of 'connecting doors'

Anil's over-the-top demands to attend an award function cost him the invite
From One two ka four to 24, Anil Kapoor has come a long way. And so, we learnt has his 'requirements'. It all began with an invitation that Anil Kapoor received to attend an awards ceremony in Dubai. Busy with his new regime to play a special agent for the Indian adaptation of American TV series 24, the actor turned down the invite. Perseverant, the sponsors came back with an ace- an award for Anil, hoping this would solve everything. Sadly, luring a Bollywood actor, who has international appeal, wasn't that easy. Along with a confirmation of him attending the do, Anil sent a lists of 'requirements'. "We were told that Anil would need two first class tickets in a good airline to fly in and fly out of Dubai. We were also told that he will need a presidential suite to stay in," said a staff member of the sponsoring company.

The actor's next demand left the organisers flummoxed. According to the source, Anil asked for rooms for his assistants on the same floor of his suite - rooms that must be interconnected to his. "We were told that the rooms must have connecting doors. Also they asked for three security guards. And smaller requests for luxury cars and more," the source added.
Needless to say, Anil was becoming a bit too heavy on the sponsor's pocket. And they decided to drop him from the show. "We wrote back saying as much as we would love to have him on board, we will not be able to afford him. He couldn't attend the awards function ultimately," said the source.
The event was successful and the show compeered by Karisma Kapoor, who interestingly came with no strings attached.

Though I don't feel it's a pressure, but yes the media loves to ask me about my wedding," said Soha. And her answer remains the same. Soha told us that she is not going to get married now or in the 'immediate future'.

We start shooting soon in India and Sri Lanka," she added.
As for her brother's production Go Goa Gone starring boyfriend Kunal, Soha told us that the shooting is 'almost over'. "After a couple of days, the film will wrap up. But I don't know when it will release. Getting a proper release date is like winning a lottery in this industry," she sighed.
