God knows where Miley’s tongue has been: Katy

When Katy Perry got a mid-concert kiss from Miley Cyrus during her Bangerz tour stop in LA last month, she wasn't expecting so much tongue!

The Roar singer recently appeared on the Australian talk show Sunrise to promote her upcoming tour and talk quickly turned to her big smooch with Miley last month, reported eonline.

"I just walked up to her to give her like a friendly girly kiss, you know, as girls do," Perry said, adding, "and then she like tried to move her head and go deeper and I pulled away."

"God knows where that tongue has been," Perry joked. " Indeed, the tongue has got quite a reputation!

The Dark Horse singer also opened up after getting in shape for her Prismatic world tour, which kicks off May 7.

"Yeah, it's a lot of work, I have to be very focused," she said. "Right now I've cut out all alcohol, all fatty foods, a lot of dairy. I go home and I'm going to have like mostly vegetarian, with some protein on the side like chicken."

She added, "I'm almost 30 guys, my body does not snap back anymore!"

Eerie but not nauseatingly gory

My brief was to create something eerie but not gory. That was the challenge. It meant not just playing on a physical level but more on a psychological one," says Krishnakant Mishra, the chief visual effects supervisor on Ragini MMS 2.

Ask him if he had any reference points for the visuals and he insists that he consciously stayed away from watching any horror films for the two months he was working on the film. "Before coming on board, my team presented the concept artwork and worked on 3D images. They were instantly approved as the visuals were true to the film's script and its subject," Mishra points out.

He confesses that after I'd read Bhushan Patel's (the film's director) script, he had to sleep with the lights on. "And later, although I stayed clear of all horror flicks, subconsciously I had the atmospherics of the Daniel Radcliffe-starrer The Woman in Black in mind," he reveals.

And what about Sunny Leone's ghostly avatar--a look which has been a closely-guarded secret of the makers?

"All I can say is that she hasn't been made to look scary in a repulsive way. She's eerie and creepy. I briefed her on how to emote and that helped me during the VFX process," he maintains.

What was the coordination between the director, producer and the VFX specialist? "I kept Bhushan in loop throughout. At times, we made several changes - as many as 10 over a particular shot - till the desired result was achieved," he admits.

Ekta Kapoor didn't have any specific instructions for him. "She was only curious to see the end product," he says.

One of the challenge was to get the actors to express, emote and react in a perfect rhythm as they shot a lot of scenes against a green screen. "We can mechanically create synthetic expressions but they are no match to the authentic ones," Mishra admits.

The team was also very clear that they were not making a nauseatingly gory film. The idea was to create fear on a mental level.

"We see so many zombie films which are full of blood and gore. And after a point, people stop getting scared as the fear gets a distinct face. We didn't want to go in that zone with Ragini MMS 2 and so we've kept the treatment minimalistic," says Mishra.

He had almost 40 artistes from FutureWorks working on the project. And apart from the dramatic visuals, the team also worked on creating the right sounds.

"Right from the heavy breathing to controlled shrieking, the process was closely monitored. On last count, I can say we worked on about 900 shots," he signs off.

‘We’ll use Bhupenda’s original songs’

Says Kalpana Lajmi, who is all set to put her Bhupen Hazarika biopic on floors post monsoon; she is planning it as a bilingual.

Kalpana Lajmi is hoping that her biopic on Bhupen Hazarika will roll post monsoon. "After a year, the written material is finally ready. Now, we need to shape it into an interesting screenplay which should take another couple of months. Mahesh Bhatt has agreed to doctor the final script and once we are both satisfied, I'll start on the casting," says the writer-director, admitting that it will be difficult to find an actor who looks, walks and speaks like Bhupenda.

She doesn't believe she can get one who can sing like him because his voice can't be replicated. So she is planning to use his original songs in the film. "I'll go through his repertoire and pick the songs that were milestones in his journey and mine, and approach the music companies for the rights. Whoever the actor is, can lip sync the songs. We can also use a few in the background," she says.

Kalpana admits that it'll be difficult condensing his life into a two-hour-10-minute film. "The idea is to bring out the integrity of the artiste who chose to live in poverty because of his passion for the arts. And whose lifelong contributions were acknowledged by naming a float after him in the Republic Day parade," she says.

Interestingly, Kalpana is planning it as a Hindi-Bengali bilingual. "Dada's whole life centred on Bengal and a huge part of 40-year relationship was set there. Kolkata will be the backdrop for my story, moving to Assam only in the last couple of years," she says.

Vir Das becomes Kangana’s toy boy

But only in reel life!

Usually seen playing goofy character, stand-up comedian turned-actor Vir Das is all set to explore his darker side. In the Tigmanshu Dhulia-produced Revolver Rani Vir will be playing Kangana Ranaut's toy boy. The actor calls it his first "serious" role.

Reveals a source close to the production, "Vir plays a guy from Bhopal called Rohan who usually has his way with women. And once he is done with them, he unceremoniously dumps them."

As the narrative progresses, he encounters Kangana's character and both indulge in a sexually symbiotic relationship. Added the source, "While Vir may think he's using her, it could actually be just the opposite. The film has several erotic scenes."

When contacted, Vir confirmed the news saying, "Yes, it's true, you'll be seeing me as a toy boy of sorts. I play a complete degenerate who is perhaps the most selfish character you'll ever see on screen. He's ambitious, manipulative and stops at nothing to get what he wants, even if it means using women."

About the erotic scenes, Vir says, "There's nothing explicit, but yes, I admit the film is high on sexual energy."

Has he, in real life, ever used his physical prowess to get what he wanted? "I may have tried, but it hasn't ever worked," he laughs.

Although he didn't have to work on his body for Revolver Rani, Vir will have to lose around 15 kilos and will be growing a beard and moustache for his next film which is based on the 1984 anti-Sikh riots.

He says, "I'm going to be on a crash-diet for the next two months. I hope I'm able to recognise myself once the transformation happens."

Jacqueline has a close shave

The actress almost got kicked out of Ranbir Kapoor's film after Salman Khan's Kick cut into the dates she had alloted for Roy.

Last Saturday, Vikram Singh, who is directing the Ranbir Kapoor-Jacqueline Fernandez starrer Roy, flew down to Sri Lanka for an impromptu meeting with the actor who is shooting for Bombay Velvet in the island country. Apart from discussions surrounding costumes and character nuances, the two also spoke about the fate of their film, which has been constantly getting delayed.

Revealed a source, "Ranbir has to shoot for around 20 days for Roy. He had allotted the dates to Vikram, and they were in sync with Jacqueline's. But Kick's schedule has gone haywire and is now eating into these dates. That created some amount of panic since it's not easy getting RK's dates."

Subsequently, Vikram had a closed-door meeting with producer Bhushan Kumar. Added the source, "They were even contemplating a replacement for Jacqueline." But fortunately for the actress, Vikram, has decided to wait till Salman's schedule with Jacqueline, that is currently underway, is finished, before shooting with her.

"But Salman is a moody star and there's a possibility that Roy wilhave to wait till June for Jacqueline. That's cutting it a little too fine since the film's release is scheduled for September," points out the source.

Vikram was reluctant to reveal any details. All he'd say was, "Jacqueline will be a part of the film. I'm having a meeting with Kick's producer-director Sajid Nadiadwala and I'm sure we will sort this out amicably."

Soni scripts a period love story for Alia

Says she will direct the film which could roll next year.

Soni Razdan has been working on a script for years based on a book which she doesn't want to name at the moment. "It's a powerful and usual love story set in the India of the '40s," she reveals.

Now for the interesting twist: Soni believes that her daughter Alia Bhatt, who has been getting plenty of compliments for her performance in her recently released film, Highway, would be ideal to play the female lead. "She's a perfect fit for this period romance," Soni says, adding that Alia knows about this script. Soni will be directing the film.

However, the film with Alia is not likely to roll soon because nine years after Nazar, Soni will return to direction this year with another period love story. Buzz is that this other film, to be produced by Pooja Bhatt's Fisheye Network and Dino Morea's Clockwork Films, is based on the infamous Nanavati murder case of 1959 where naval officer KM Nanavati was tried for the murder of Prem Ahuja, his wife's lover. Soni refuses to confirm this. "All I can say is that it's based on a true story and an exciting relationship,"

The film with Alia will take off after she finishes with this one. "It will definitely not happen this year. Maybe I'll put it on floors towards the end of 2015," she says, adding with a laugh. "Alia has to give her nod and the dates before we can roll!"

Sallu swings with 60 girls

In a first, Salman Khan will be seen matching steps to a groovy hiphop song in brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri's upcoming film, Oh Teri. Mirror has learnt that the title track, which will be shot today in Bandra's Mehboob Studio, will be choreographed by Rajeev Surti who excels in hip-hop choreography.

The energetic number will also feature female dancers b-boying to funk music.

Says a source close to the production, "Around 60 b-girls, who have been flown in from abroad, will be seen with Sallu in the song. He will be doing a mix of street dance and hip-hop. He has already rehearsed the moves with Surti. It's something he has never attempted before."

Added the source, "Salman has five costume changes which have been designed by his sister Alvira Khan and stylist Ashley Lobo." When contacted, Atul said, "Yes, it's true that Salman will be hip-hopping with 60 girls.

It's a treat to watch him perform. I'm glad he took time out from his schedule for this song."

The 47-year-old Mexican actress and her husband of five years are moving from Paris to a rented house in West London, reported an entertainment daily.

"I want to clarify, it's not for tax reasons. We are still paying taxes here in France. We think that London has a lot more to offer than just a better tax situation. I think it will be good for my career too," she said.

Julia almost made Cate miss her Oscar

Cate Blanchett, who won the Best Actress Oscar for her role in Blue Jasmine, has revealed that she could have been a no-show when her name was announced as the winner because she was hanging out with Julia Roberts at the bar.
The blonde beauty told an entertainment daily that the Best Actress prize is given out at the "arse end of the evening" and when you watch so many other extraordinary people go up there, you lose track of the fact that you're even nominated.
