Adele fails to register her baby

Singer Adele is facing a fine of 1,000 pounds after she did not register her newborn son legally, within 42 days of birth.
The 24-year-old became a mother Oct 19 but did not complete legal formalities and hence is facing the penalty. However, things are not likely to turn serious for Adele, who is engaged to Simon Konecki.
"Cops are hardly going to be banging on their doors and it's probably just an oversight on their part," a leading website quoted a source as saying.

"Most parents register their baby within a couple of weeks because it is a nice thing to do- and because there is maximum fine of 1,000 pounds if they don't. There are loads of reason why parents are late and millions of couples don't bother for ages," the source added.

PeeCee - Kat break the ice

Priyanka Chopra and Katrina Kaif have never been the best of friends. In fact, reportedly during the making of Agneepath, a film that starred PeeCee as the female lead and Katrine as the guest item girl, the two did not share amicable vibes. And recently, after the former A-list actress was spotted by our lensman outside a certain Khan's Bandra apartment at 5 am in the morning, chances of PeeCee ever being best friends with the A-list actor's former girlfriends Kat looked feeble. But surprise, surprise! At a recent award function held in Mumbai, Mirror spotted the two ladies hugging in open view of the audience. And we couldn't help but capture the moment.
An eyewitness told us all about the priceless moment. "PeeCee had gone up on stage to receive an award. On her way down, she just came over to hug Katrina, who was sitting beside her Ek Tha Tiger director Kabir Khan. On lookers were quite stunned to see the two of them embrace." Well, we believe a certain Khan would be quite 'stunned' as well.

GULSHAN GROVER

They thought Asian actors were troublemakers

When I started off, actors who wanted to work in Hollywood, packed their bags and left the country, settled there. None of the successful actors with an impressive body of work here, thought of venturing into Hollywood without wanting to settle there. And I wanted to be an exception. It was in the 90s. There was no clarity on how to get an agent, get films. I had gone for a show with Aamir and Shah Rukh to Los Angeles. I figured Hollywood had no idea of how we work here, who were our biggest stars. What's more, the agents there wanted aspirants to stay there, not come back. Communication was a problem. This was in the pre-email days, when everything was faxed. It was very difficult to convince them that we were professionals who could be trusted.
They had heardd horror stories about us that we don't come on time, we get drunk, get into brawls and all that. Sometimes they offered me contracts that said my passport will be confiscated. It took time for them to understand us.
I got an agent, but roles offered were that of Asian cabbies with a few lines. When I refused them, they asked me to get lost. Then Jungle Book happened in 1997, where I played the main villian.
Duncan McLachlan, the director met me and said I had a 'strong face and amazing eyes.' I waited for the final call for three months, but then I was told the distributors did not want an Indian actor for such an important part. I was disappointed. But then much later, while shootinf for Koyla, the producer called me again and said the director was unhappy with the replacement actor and wanted to know if I still had long hair! I said yes, and I was on!
Since then I have acted in nine top-of-the-line Hollywood films, and have several meaty roles to my credit. Today I can safely say that I had laid down the ground roles for a whole lot of talented stars - Aishwarya, Anil Kapoor, Irrfan...
I am told, when Anil Kapoor, my colleague and my peer, tell me that when every time he goes to LA and meets the agents and the production houses, he is asked about "Gulshan Grover". It feels good. I always wanted to make my country proud and work with my head held high.

Ekta bans actors for flooding her inbox

Declares on a social networking site that she will never work with Harshad Chopra or Aditi Gupta again

From being the unrivalled queen of television soaps to heading one of the most adventurous production houses in Hindi film industry, Ekta Kapoor has given several aspirants the much required 'break'. Needless to say, she has often been at the receiving end of requests from actors. And Ekta has always maintained her poise. In fact, she has welcomed newcomers by even installing a drop box for them to submit portfolios at the Balaji office gates in Andheri years back. But the so called 'fans' of two television actors have made her lose her calm. Harassed by several followers of television actors Harshad Chopra and Aditi Gupta - who acted in a Balaji serial that was aired last in 2010, continuously for a couple of years, Ekta has declared on a public forum her decision to never cast them in any of her TV soaps.

"Dear harshad aditi fans, I dnt knw if u guys wl get this msg but its imperative I somehow reach u guys! its been 5 years u guys hv hounded me ! spamim my inbox my phone n twitter...just because of this I pROMISE NEVER to cast these 2 ACTORS! forget casting them togethEr! THNAKU!" -- was her exact post on the Facebook page.
"There has to be a limit. The fans of these two actors were not content with hounding me for so many years, they started harassing my friends. There was a time when my mailbox used to get jammed because they sent me all sorts of requests to cast them together in my serials. I ignored them till now. But in the last couple of months, they seemed to have crossed the line," said Ekta adding that things got out of hand when the Asia Head of a prominent channel called to say that the same fans have been spamming him as well. "I was too angry when I updated the status on my facebook page and I have calmed down since then. But I still feel harassed," said Ekta and mentioned that she may change her mobile number now, an idea she had been resisting for long.
When contacted, Harshad and Aditi denied that they were in any way responsible for the spam messages Ekta received.
"I know about this and let me tell you that I am not registered on any of the social networking sites. So, I am not aware of what my fans do there. I feel embarassed and humiliated when people come to me and say they have received such mails," said Aditi.
On the other hand,Harshad mentioned he was accused of spamming Ekta in the past. "Somebody who claims to be my fan is doing this. But I don't really know who. We don't have any control over our fans. I am really sorry on their behalf but that is the most I can do at the moment," said Harshad.

Sona-Akki poised for a hattrick

Akshay rewards Sonakshi's loyalty by offering her the lead in Ghajini director's next. Sorry Parineeti, better luck next time!

There has been a lot of speculation about Akshay Kumar's leading lady AR Murugadoss' Thupakki - his second Hindi film after Ghajini (2008). While certain reports suggested that PeeCee Junior, Parineeti may be the one to star opposite the actor, insiders revealed that Sonakshi Sinha may just have kanded her third film with Akki.
While some media reports claimed that Parineeti may have landed the conveted role, her spokesperson confirmed, "She is not doing the film." As for Sonakshi, the chance to star with Akki for the third time ws not without share of near-misses.
Even while the casting was being finalised, there were rumours about Sonakshi being upset with Akki for not standing up for her candidature for thr role despite she supporting his decision to boycott the promotions of Joker earlier in the year.
Says a source, "The fact that Sonakshi was possibly not the first choice for Thupakki did not agree with her since she had pinned her hopes for Akki. After Rowdy Rathore, Joker and the special appearance in Oh My God, she had hoped that Akki would reward her commitment by offering her the lead role in one of his biggest films this season. When that did not happen, she had retreated hurt."
But all the bitterness may now be a thing of the past. In fact, we learnt that Akki and Sonakshi saw the original Tamil action thriller together last week.
Incidentally, not just Sonakshi, several other actresses had been pitching hard for the lead role opposite Akki, who will be seen as an Army officer in the film.

MEANWHILE...
Pink City stops for PC Jr
Maneesh Sharma waited long to start his third film with YRF. After Shahid Kapoor's ouster from the project and replacing him with Susshant Singh Rajput, the director finally started shooting the film in Jaipur.
The Badi Chaupar market in the Pink City came to a stand-still as Parineeti, Sushant and Maneesh shot their first scene there. A make-shift coffee shop was created on the roof of a shop in the market area.
According to sources close to the film, the cast and crew will move to Bapu Bazaar and Nehru Bazaar for the next leg of the shooting.

Kristen to pay a price for cheating?

Whether u love her or hate her, there's no question Kristen Stewart killed it as the face popular Spanish fashion house's fragrance.

Which is why we were shocked to hear the reports that the Twilight babe might be losing out on her infamous cheating scandal with Rupert Sanders, her Snow White and the Huntsman director.
    Why?
Because Sanders' scorned wife, Liberty Ross, is friendly with Alexander Wang, the new creative director for the edgy high-end brand. Wang was named the new head of the brand shortly after the fashion house parted ways with its former creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere.
According to a leading website, so K Stew might be fired and kicked to the high-fashion curb.
But a source tells another website that the rumor is entirely not true, and thre has never been any talk about Kristen no longer being the face.
Another source echoes the same sentiment, insisiting that there is zero truth to the story and they are happy with Kristen.
There's no official comment from the fashion house at this time.

'I thought Imran was a paedophile'

Perhaps in a bid to live up to her free spirired image, Anushka Sharma at a recent press event held on Tuesday, landed her pretty foot in the mouth. In answer to a question about what she thought of her Matru Ki Bijli Ka Mandola co-star Imran Khan, the actress said, "I thought he was a paedophile," and giggled.
For the next few seconds, everybody present at the event was rendered spechless. Imran, being a through gentleman, simply replied: "Yeah, I've heard such talks doing the rounds." But unlike Imran, people from the industry haven't been able to take the statement in good humour. A senior filmmaker who happened to see Anushka's outburst of cocky exuberance wondered if she knows the meaning of 'paedophile' saying, "Some things aren't done in civil society. Joking about paedophilia is one of them."

ROMEO NEVER DIES

....at least for Bollywood filmmakers with Shekhar Kapur being the latest addition to the list of those who have drawn inspiration from the Shakespearean classic

Shakespeare never had it so good... or bad. Shekhar Kapur's ambitious project Paani is now widely believed to be a thinly-veiled futuristic tribute to Romeo & Juliet, the tragic love story between two younger lovers from warring families.
However, he is not the first Hindi filmmaker to adapt to the screen one of the legendary English poet-playwright's most romantic works.
There have been umpteen instances in the recent past of films that are a modern-day take on the famous play.

ISHAQZAADE(2012)
THE LOVERS: Parineeti Chopra and Arjun Kapoor
HIGHLIGHT: Born to politically rival families in northern India, Parma (Arjun) and Zoya (Parineeti) live the life of Shakespeare's famous tragic lovers. Like the Montague and Capulet of 17th Century, Parma and Zoya die in the end.

ISHAAQ
(UNDER PRODUCTION)
THE LOVERS: Amyra Dastoor, Prateik Babbar
HIGHLIGHT: Manish Tiwari's interpretation, which remains mostly true to the original, has been shot in and around Varanasi. It is almost ready for release with only five more days of shooting left, by the director's own admission.

RAM LEELA
(UNDER PRODUCTION)
THE LOVERS: Deepika Padukone, Ranveer Singh
HIGHLIGHT: Sanjay Leela Bhansali's adaptation of the play is based in Gujarat. In fact, Ranveer had to brush up his language and Deepika took dancing lessons to fit the new-age Romeo-Juliet.

RAANJHANAA
(UNDER PRODUCTION)
THE LOVERS: Sonam Kapoor, Dhanush
HIGHLIGHT: Aanand Rai's take on Shakespeare's play ferries the star-crossed lovers to Varanasi and Delhi. The film happens to be Dhanush's Bollywood debut. Reportedly, the actor had injured his shoulder during filming of an action sequence of a Telugu film he shot just before Raanjhanaa. This delayed an entire song-and-dance sequence featuring Dhanush.

PRASOON JOSHI- SAANSON KO SAASON MEIN GHULNE DE...

I hadn't copied any established lyricist

I had been writing poetry and lyrics since long but my first hit that virtually opened the doors for me in Hindi cinema was the Alka Yagnik-Babul Supriyo duet Saanson Ko Saanson Mein Ghulne De Zaraa from Kunal Kohli's film Hum Tum.

I wasn't new to romantic poetry and had written a substantial amount of it before. But this number gave me a euphoric feeling of mass connectivity. Having started out as a copywriter in advertising, I knew what connecting to your audience meant. the high I got from reaching out to millions off hearts is indescribable. Saanson ko Saanson created an immediate and far-reaching impact. and, I got my first popular award for it. i feel the film industry reacted to my poetry in a positive way because they noticed a fresh poetic voice in my writing. I hadn't copied any established poet-lyricist. I was pretty much walking on my own lonely path of creativity. The audience liked that.
My strength was I could not be compared to other lyricists. I didn't follow the usual patterns of film lyrics writing. I remember Pam Aunty (Pamela Chopra - wife of late Yash Chopra) telling me she loved the expression, "Lamhom Ki Guzaarish Hai" in my song. Part of the credit for the song's impact goes to Rani Mukerji and Saif Ali Khan who emoted to the lyrics and made them their own.
