Mani Shankar tomake Modi omnipresent

With the help of holography, a technology brought to India by the filmmaker, he'll help the Gujarat chief minister address masses in Ahmedabad, Surat and Baroda at the same time

Indian politicians believed to be omnipotent can now be omnipresent as well. Thanks to a technology called holography brought to India by filmmaker Mani Shankar (known for his 'high on technology' films 16 December and Rudraksh) and his business partner Kasu Rajagopal Reddy. And now, Gujarat chief minister Narendra Modi will be seen simultaneously in Ahmedabad, Surat, Rajkot and Baroda during the election campaigns.
A friend of the filmmaker told Mirror, "Mani and his team- Anjali Joshi and Bhupesh Bhupathy, will deploy specially created holographic mobile theatres for Modi in Gujarat. These compact mobile units pack a huge punch as they criss-cross villages and showcase life-size holographic shows where Mr. Modi appears from thin air and talks to villagers in person, right there in their own yard!"

Apparently, Shanar has signed a non-disclosure-agreement for the Rs 157 crore project. Needless to say, he refused to talk about his 'holographic' association with Modi. However, when asked about his company's plan to 'bring back' Michael Jackson for a live concert with musicians Shankar Mahadevan, Adnan Sami and others, he said, "We are certainly looking at changing the way audiences connect with celebrities, and yes, something startling with Jackson is on the cards."
In the Tom Hanks starrer 1994 film Forest Gump, the technology (rotoscoping) was used to show Forrest with President Kennedy. This was the first time a form of holography was used in cinema.
