Ekta Kapoor, who has bought the rights of the 1976 blockbuster Nagin, is
remaking the Jeetendra-Reena Roy starrer, albeit with a contemporary twist.
A source close to the project said, “The film will be set in today’s
times. It will be keeping with the sensibility of today’s audience. We need
three to four months to finalise the script.”
The original Nagin starred Sunil Dutt, Feroz Khan, Rekha and Mumtaz.
Both the director and cast of Ekta’s remake are yet to be finalised. “We
haven’t identified the director yet. Once that is done, we will think of the
actors. It is also too premature to talk about the cameo for Jeetendra-ji and
Reena-ji,” said the source.
The other eagerly awaited Balaji project is Milan Talkies that stars Priyanka Chopra opposite Imran Khan for
the first time.
