When contacted Ayushmann said: "We are in talks on several projects but have neither signed nor declined any so far. We are waiting for the right script." Seems it is some other project, and not the Ramesh Sippy's return vehicle, the actor is referring to. It was18 years ago that Ramesh Sippy helmed the Shah Rukh Khan-Raveena Tandon starrer Zamaana Deewana. The Sholay director has not wielded the megaphone since. He was happy producing films, while his son, Rohan Sippy, donned the director's hat. Two years ago however he had announced his plan to go back to his first love.
Now, Mirror has it that Sr Sippy has bought the rights of a foreign film, which he intends to remake. He also finalised the lead actor-- his son's Nautanki Saala hero Ayushmann Khurrana. However, the buzz is that even after confirming, the actor has backed out. A source said: "Ayushmann had a chat with Rohan about the project and after watching the original, he instantly agreed to be a part of the remake."
