Here's why Naseer and Randeep won’t promote John Day

If a director has plagiarised his film, in most cases the cast is in the know. But not for Randeep Hooda and Naseerudin Shah. For their upcoming thriller John Day, director Ahishor Solomon approached producer Anjum Rizvi and Randeep Hooda with his film's screenplay. Throughout the shoot, Solomon conveniently forgot to tell them that his film is lifted from a 2002 Spanish thriller, Box 507.
When the trailers came out, a film director mentioned the similarities between John Day and Box 507, to Randeep Hooda who was in for a total shock. He informed his producer, and both of them then confronted the film's director, who is believed to have defended himself saying, "it is only loosely inspired."

As things stand now, both Naseer and Randeep are reluctant to promote the film, as they feel they have been taken for a ride.
