A source close to the development told Mirror, "The decision is purely from a business point of view. Why invest money, unless there is a market for your product?" B-town's awesome twosome, Aamir Khan and Salman Khan, were supposed to come together for the animated 3-D version of the 1994 ribtickler Andaz Apna Apna. The Rajkumar Santoshi directed movie, which also starred Karisma Kapoor and Raveena Tandon, has achieved a cult status over the years. However, it seems the ambitious 3-D project may not see the light of the day.
Siddharth Jain, who was producing the film, told Mirror that the project is on the back burner for now due to funds crunch.
Siddharth elaborated, "I think the animation format has not picked up in India. It held a lot of promise a few years ago, but not anymore. If the situation improves, I shall definitely go back to the film."
