Simon Cowell names baby

 

Proud new dad Simon Cowell has given son Eric the middle name Philip - honouring both his late dad and his tycoon pal Sir Philip Green.
Emotional Simon, 54, was said to have wept tears of joy at the birth of his first child on Friday, telling girlfiend Lauren Silverman, 36: "This is the happiest day of my life."
He named the boy in memory of his late father Eric (whose middle name was also Philip) who died of a heart attack aged 81 in 1999.
It may also be a tribute to Topshop boss Sir Philip, amid speculation the high street king could be godfather to the music mogul's first born.
Simon has told close pals that son Eric is his spitting image.
The proud dad said: "He looks just like me - and he has loads of hair. He's amazing"
The talent show judge was also pictured heading into his New York hotel looking happy and relaxed - even flashed a peace sign to waiting snappers.
