After the success of his Vidya Balan-starrer Kahaani, Sujoy Ghosh seems spoilt for choices.
While two of his upcoming projects- the sequel to Kahaani and Badla- are almost scripted and ready to go on floors, Sujoy is in a dilemma as to which one should tackle first?
When contacted, Sujoy said, "There is a lot of persuasion to do the Kahaani sequel before Badla. I am not sure which one to take up first."
A friend of filmmaker said, "Sujoy had all but locked the script of Badla. But he is now not sure if he wants to do Badla first. There is a lot of pressure on him to quickly deliver the sequel to Kahaani. Everyone close to the film including Viacom 18 feel Kahaani is a better bet."
A source close to Sujoy said, "He is in a fix. He doesn't know which direction to take. Luckily or unluckily, he is working on an idea for the sequel simultaneously with Badla. So he can pick and choose. He has his heart set on Badla as it brings together two of his favourite actors, Amitabh Bachchan and Naseeruddin Shah. However, everyone around him has adviced him to quickly do a sequel to Kahaani before the characters fade from public memory."
Interestingly, Vidya Balan is part of both his projects. And when Sujoy asked her for her advice, she made it clear she'd be happy to do either film first.
