Not many know that Abhay is a very close friend of Ranbir. "In fact, Ranbir's first showreel, shot before his debut film Saawariya, was helmed by Abhay," the source revealed. Abhay's student film, India 1964, which was nominated for the Students' Oscars in 2007, also featured the actor. BR Chopra's grandson Abhay Chopra is leaving no stone unturned to revive his home banner-BR Films. Known for producing super hits like Naya Daur (1957), Sadhna (1958), Kanoon (1961), Gumrah (1963), Humraaz (1967), Baghban (2003) and the TV Series Mahabharat, B R Films ran into huge debts and Abhay's father Ravi Chopra's deteriorating health only made matters worse.
Abhay, who is making an effort to resurrect the production house with a sequel to the Amitabh-SRK starrer Bhootnath, is now planning to roll out another film in collaboration with Ranbir Kapoor. RK will play the protagonist.
